Privacy
Pingel is a sideline scoring app for amateur football. Team, match and season data live on your phone by default. We receive the data you deliberately share, and usage statistics that are not linked to you.
What stays on your device
Squad names, kit colours, match events, history and settings are stored in the app’s local storage and the system Keychain for share tokens. That data is not sent anywhere unless you use a sharing feature.
What we receive when you share
- Live match link — score, clock, timeline and short player names for that match, so people with the link can follow along in a browser.
- Team invite — the team document and history needed for another manager or follower to stay in sync.
Shared data is held on servers operated for Pingel at live.pingel.app (Cloudflare). There are no Pingel user accounts on the server; access uses tokens minted by the app.
Usage statistics
The app reports how it is used to Google Analytics for Firebase: which screens are opened, which features are used, and whether syncing worked. This tells us what to fix and what to build next.
- Not linked to you. Each report carries a random identifier that Firebase creates when the app is installed. It is not tied to your name, email or any account, and we do not combine it with other data. Deleting the app ends it; a reinstall gets a new one.
- No names or match details. Reports never contain player, team, club or opponent names, anything you type, or the codes in share links. Counts such as squad size are sent as rough ranges.
- Not for advertising. The app does not read your device’s advertising identifier, and Google’s advertising features and signals are turned off.
- What Firebase adds. The app version, device model, operating system, language and country.
Google processes this data on our behalf, possibly on servers outside the EU, and it is kept for 14 months. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it. To have the statistics from your phone deleted, email support@pingel.app.
What we do not collect
We do not run advertising SDKs, read your advertising identifier or sell personal data. The app does not ask for your email or phone number to use the core features.
Camera
The camera is used only when you scan a team invite QR code. Images are not uploaded.
